Bernhard Fuchs was born in 1929 and was active as a child and teenager in the Jungvolk and in the Hitler Youth. He was enthusiastic about it and was also deployed to the "Schanzen" in France. The end of the war prevented him from actually going to war. It was only much later that he realized the manipulative techniques of the Hitler regime, the Hitler Youth used to prepare children and young people for the war. In Oral History he tells of his experiences and his current perspective on the enthusiasm of that time.We see the fate of a man who authentically tells of his delusion in childhood and draws conclusions for today.
